Stand out from the crowd this festive season

New Delhi [India], Oct 19 (ANI): Festivals bring in a lot of excitement and merriment bringing with them the spirit of dressing up! Every day leading up to Diwali and after is special in the festive calendar.

Diwali itself is an occasion to bring out our most ornate best, be it a gorgeous traditional Benarasi silk saree or a more modern fusion palazzo and kurta combination.

Since dressing up is such an integral part of the festivities, you want to stand out and shine, paying attention to every little detail right from the bindi to your anklets.

Here are a few tips from Isha Pandey, Lead Designer, BlueStone.com, that will complement the charm of your festive outfit and leave your family and friends envious:

• Uber Traditional: Silk sarees, anarkalis, traditional lehenga - cholis or even salwar kameez can be amped up with the perfect jewellery. Based on how ornate your outfit is, you can choose your jewellery. Heavy work on garments should be the center of attention, in which case the jewellery should ideally be minimalist. A simple pendant on a delicate yellow or white gold chain paired with matching earrings and a ring should complete the look.

• Alternative Traditional: If you are up for experimenting with your traditional look a little, Diwali is the perfect time to do it. Add a twist to your traditional saree by tying it in the "dhoti style". This drape is particularly exciting because it leaves a lot of scope for accessorizing! You can use a gold kamarband to accentuate the style as well as go for gorgeous arm bands or vankis.

• Traditional Fusion: If sarees are not your style, you can opt for a cape style top with a tussar silk lehenga, and accessorize with a choker style neck piece and a delicate bracelet. Another popular style that works well with the festive season is the palazzo also called a sharara. Pair this versatile garment with a crop top or a long kurta and create your own style statement. This style leaves a larger scope for accessorizing since it is a perfect balance of modern and traditional. Pair this look with long statement earrings and a cocktail ring, leaving the neck and wrists bare.

• The Whole Look: Once you have decided what to wear - jewellery and outfit, complete your look with the right make up. Diwali calls for some basic amount of drama on your face! It is no longer important to match eye shadow shade to your outfit shade, but you can match it to the jewellery! Wearing diamonds - add a little shimmer to your eyeshadow and highlights. Emeralds and rubies can be accentuated with eye make-up in gold and copper tones. Winged eye-liner with subtle shades of gold and copper work beautifully without becoming too over the top.

Let the joy and celebration of the festive season shine out through your look. It is the only time of the year when one can invest in perfect the little details! (ANI)
